Welcome! It’s great you’re checking things out! As you look into different therapists and practices, you’ll notice that everyone has their own style and their own modalities, or ways of working. That stuff is important, but what’s most important is that you find someone you feel you can build an honest working relationship with - that’s where the magic is. This is why I offer a free consultation - so we can meet, figure out if it feels like a good fit, or if I can help you find someone who does feel like a good fit.
My style of working is very relational, casual, open and curious. I view our work as a partnership and a discovery. We’ll focus on what’s coming up for you, and I’ll check with you about offering feedback and insights. I make space for you to make your own discoveries and build on them - think of our work together like a learning lab - a place to try new things, experience growth and change, and test out new ideas and skills.

Once you and I decide to start working together, there will be a period of time where we explore your story and what brings you to therapy. We’ll get a handle on all of that and dig in together. The therapeutic relationship takes a little time to build. We’ll typically start out meeting for about 50 minutes weekly, and mutually make adjustments from there. The length of time we work together is dependent on what brings you to therapy, but lots of people start feeling and seeing shifts in 8-12 weeks, but some people need support for longer. It’s fairly individual, but rest assured, it will feel clear that we’re working on things and have a direction we’re moving in.
I am not a person who assigns “homework,” unless you tell me that’s exactly what you want, but I will often offer an opportunity to notice something, or to try a skill out in the wild for us to work through back in the office.

I am not paneled with insurance which allows for increased control and privacy for the client. Insurance determines which practitioners you can see, for how long, and requires a diagnosis that stays with your medical record. I can offer you a monthly “Super Bill” upon request so you can submit it to your insurance for reimbursement. Please reach out with questions.

I am the owner and operator of Attunement Collective Counseling and Consulting, LLC. In the field of social work, practitioners finish their graduate training, pass a licensure examination, and then enter into a period of “associate licensure,” meaning they work together with a supervisor who is a mentor. During this period of time, the associate therapist is able to consult with, receive support and guidance from a more senior social worker.. This is all laid out by the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners. The Board-approved clinical supervisor of this practice is Atiq Shomar, LCSW. I’ve said many times that all growth and development happens in relationship - my own growth too!
